I thoroughly enjoyed reading your newsletter today Stephanie.

Like you, I still struggle to implement this with my now adult child.

I see it as saying yes to myself when I say no to others.

Thank you! Yes, the mom thing is tricky, where do we draw the line?

My son no longer lives with me but he does still sometimes have a habit of thinking if I have a day off from work that means he can fill that time. So, I've started letting hom know in advance that I need time to do my own thing on set days so that he knows not to fill up my time. Of course, there are still plenty of times when I happily give my time to him.

I'm really really working on saying no and not feeling bad about it. I've had a lot of people visit me this year and when I wasn't firm in my boundaries, I was left feeling really taken advantage of and angry at everyone. It was not healthy at all.

My friends and I are also continually working on not saying "I'm sorry," especially in work situations.
