Happy Sunday! In today’s free post, I share a journal prompt designed to help us establish new beliefs that serve our highest good and break us out of patterns that do not serve us.

Appreciating Different Perspectives Ultimately Expands Our Creativity
The phrase ‘I already knew that’ bothers me. It is the fastest way to close off your mind and shut down new opportunities. It’s also a condescending way to shut out the other person’s opportunity to freely use and explore the power of their voice.
I can’t even count the number of times I’ve started speaking about something I’m passionate about and a tunnel-visioned human has come at me with the phrase ‘I already know that’. It’s frustrating sometimes because in my head I’m thinking “No you don’t, because you didn’t even give me the opportunity to explain my thoughts on the subject.’
Does this happen to you, as a brilliant writer and creative with much knowledge and wisdom to share with the world?
It happens a lot in my world.
And sure, there’s lots of stuff I believe I already know. But that doesn’t stop me from listening to someone else's perspective on the subject matter.
Why?
Every time I hear those low-frequency words ringing through the walls of my head, and I read or listen anyway, I am almost absolutely floored. Every. Single. Time.
Each time I lean into a new perspective, I learn more.
Maybe I received new information that I actually didn’t know. Maybe I received something to ponder on or research over the next few weeks. Or maybe I learned something about myself. Every time, I learn how to practice being open-minded and yet neutral to something I feel strongly about.
I can have a perspective without having an attachment to any emotions regarding the subject.
Listening to someone else's perspective is also a phenomenal way to strike up healthy debate and possible new collaborative opportunities.
It’s also a great way to practice your sovereignty.
When you can listen to a perspective that is the polar opposite of yours and remain neutral, have compassion and not judge the other person, while still standing firm in your truth, you are practicing sovereignty.
Allowing others to have their own experience without judgment is humbling, and it develops your character.
I refuse to say the words ‘I already knew that”
To me, those words are a waste of breath. We will never know everything there is to know about this Universe. But the gift of life is sharing our experience with other humans journeying through life with us.
Be humble and remember… you don’t know everything. And that’s ok.
It’s Safe to Explore Your Magic
Be curious about what else you are capable of. What have you been dreaming up that wants your attention? Is there something you are ignoring because you don’t feel like it’s possible?
You don’t need to know all the steps. Just take the next step. Baby steps are fine.
Be curious about what’s next instead of anxious about it. Simply listen, act, listen, act. You’ll get there one loving step at a time.
Celebrate each step.
Consider that you are magic. What would be possible if you had that magic?
Act as if you had it (lovingly), and watch the magic unfold!

Books I am Currently Reading
This year’s theme for me has been all about lightening things up. As a married mom of 3 boys and 3 dogs who also runs two businesses and is a continuous learner, I need to make a conscious effort to make space in my life for the things that bring me joy.
If you don’t make the space, I guarantee no one else will. Examine the things in your life that suck your energy. How can you alter those slightly so that it feels more spacious? Can you eliminate them maybe?
