Sunday Reflection: Clarifying and Setting Intentions
VOICE RECORDING: A subtle shift in how I intended something changed the usual outcome. Plus, your weekly channeled empowerment prompt!
Happy Sunday! In today’s post, I share a journal prompt designed to help us establish new beliefs that serve our highest good and break us out of patterns that do not serve us. I will also share a reflection or a realization that you might resonate with, intended to inspire and empower!
Today’s Journal Prompt
How a Subtle Shift in How I Intended Something Changed the Outcome
I intend to remain focused and clear.
Remain.
That’s it. That’s the piece that was missing.
Do you set intentions monthly? Weekly? Daily?
I wake up early before the sun rises to take in the peace and quiet, breathe, and write in my journal. This ritual allows me to really savor my morning coffee and set the tone for what’s usually a busy day.
In my journal, I write my intentions for the day.
They typically look like this: “I intend to ________” and then whatever it is I’m intending.
My theme all year has been to receive clarity around business and the next steps in leadership and personal development.
So to give an example of what some of my daily intentions looked like:
“I intend to be clear and focused today”, “I intend to be productive today”, “I intend to make money today”, I intend to be patient with my children today.”
One morning, at the beginning of last week, I chose a different word.
I realized that using the word BE was limiting me.
Why?
Because I am BEing in every moment. I want to BE focused and clear all the time.
I decided to try a different word, and I spent time contemplating the word to make sure it felt potent and good to me.
This is how I changed it and how it looks now:
“I INTEND TO REMAIN FOCUSED TODAY”
Do you feel that? It’s more intentional, more strong. There’s more substance to it. And guess what?
I was, in fact, so focused all week, that I didn’t even need to intend all the other intentions I was writing down. Because REMAINING focused allowed me to:
Be patient
Be clear
Be productive
Make more money.
The way we use our words is so important. We tend to slide words or phrases in that limit us without even being aware we’re doing it.
Just like the word “try.” I feel like the word try is such a useless word. It doesn’t add any substance and instantly adds doubt. It’s either you will or you won’t, but if you try, then what is it? Maybe?
Be Curious About Your Intentions
I invite you to consider the words you use when you say affirmations, write down intentions or scripts, and speak to others
. Use as many power words as you can. Words that really add flavor and vibrancy to your sentence will also add vibrancy and power to your intention.
Notice how a simple shift in perspective and intention can really change how you walk through daily life. Choose power words that you will remember.
These words trigger your awareness to remember your intention, so you can train your subconscious to keep coming back to that intention.

Such a subtle shift yet so powerful ✨
Made a big impact. I’m looking forward to getting curious about what other words I can replace to make other affirmations more powerful!
